  • This is a very unique role as this position will work cross functionally with other DTS departments including, Desktop, Telecommunications, and Accounting.

    Will act as the analytical engine of the team, providing insights and supporting optimal business decision making. Financial Analysts leverage strong accounting and compliance backgrounds to explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive process and policy improvements. This position will reside on the procurement team and will help with production.

  • Analyzing current and past financial data and performance.
  • Identifying trends in procurement performance and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with the analyzing of actual results against plan and forecast and prepare analysis as required.
  • Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review data analytics in relation to departments goals and metrics.
  • Detailed analysis, with understanding of key drivers, to forecast trends.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of business processes, looking for both control gaps and opportunities to gain process efficiency.
  • Preparing reports and projections based on analysis.
  • Illustrating financial trends with charts and graphs.
  • Ad-Hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as required.

  • Typical Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented, with unquestionable integrity and credibility
  • Ability to \"connect the dots\" for others across multiple data points, make connections upstream/downstream that may not be easily noticeable (Skilled in Microsoft or Excel)
  • Presenting creative and logical solutions to identified problems
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes across multiple platforms
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Communicates and demonstrates judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers within a matrix organization
  • Possesses initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and project management skills to multitask and manage workload to timely completion
  • Works independently, meets deadlines
  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
  • Make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions
  • Use State or agency-specific software application program(s)
  • Research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information
  • Compose and produce reports, documents and related material
  • Read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
  • Evaluate information against a set of standards
